Artists Culture Night 2024

Chaz Moloney

Chaz Moloney has been at the forefront of Limerick’s underground dance scene over the last decade, through regular appearances as both a DJ and promoter. Promoting techno music in his locality; through projects such as TOT, SIONNA Music & Arts Festival & NOPANiK LK, Chaz has been pushing, forward thinking underground dance spaces for years and understands how to create a tangible dance experience from many aspects of the dancefloor. A regular appearance on Ireland’s Festival & Club Circuit, Chaz pushes a raw driving techno sound, taking inspiration from old school techno, while developing futuristic soundscapes.

Over the course of the last 2 years Chaz has been collecting hardware and slowly transforming his craft from DJ to Live artist. Developing a modular system that allows him to be fully creative and express & relay the atmosphere of any room he performs in. Summer of 2023, audiences saw elements of the Live show for the first time as Chaz appeared at some coastal raves in Ireland testing out the system and parts of the show, before finally taking it to debut at Fuinneamh Festival, King John’s Castle for Culture Night and a Sold Out headline show in Belltable Theatre, Limerick.

Improvisation lies at the fundamental core of Chaz’ performance and so you can expect to arrive at moments of blistering magic as Chaz layers the elements of his system and takes the room on a
powerful sonic exploration. An experience that is underpinned by thundering grooves, powerful basslines and dissonant soundscapes!

DĂłiler

DoilĂ©ir’s contribution to Cork’s electronic music scene runs deep. The vinyl DJ,emerging producer, established promoter, and RealSound tutor has built his reputation from the ground up, playing under-the-radar parties and club nights across the country. In 2019, he progressed his skills further by studying DJ Techniques at Bray Institute of Further Education [B.I.F.E] under the tutelage of Sunil Sharpe, Defekt and Doug Cooney, honing his craft through the guidance of Irish artists at the top of their game.

Back home in Cork, Doiléir is a resident DJ and co-founder of the Elision collective alongside Jack Devine and FYUN. The platform shines a light on rising and established names, deviating from trend-driven sounds and, instead, focusing on talented artists from the realms of techno and electro. Sunil Sharpe, Jamie Behan, Cailín, Josh Reid, Doug Cooney and many more have soundtracked the party.

As one of Ireland’s top techno DJs, he is dedicated to vinyl-only sets, delivering everything from wonky techno to hypnotic techno to electro. With a versatile taste in music, he has supported Sunil Sharpe, Bas Mooy, Keepsakes, Decka, EAS, and Tremor, among other leading names.

Mejmi

MEJMI’s sound stems from the hypnotic, shadowy and groovy corners of techno, blending spectral atmospheres with old-skool flavours. A knowledgeable selector using vinyl and digital formats, she respects the genre’s roots and pays homage to the eras that have shaped dance music culture as we know it today.
A trained multi-instrumentalist in piano, violin and cello, MEJMI later discovered techno via late-night broadcasts on RadiĂł Na Gaeltacht. During the long days of lockdown, MEJMI explored the genre further and taught herself how to mix, drawing influence from the vibrant nightlife of Valencia, Spain, where she previously spent time on Erasmus. With her storied background in instrumentalism, mixing came naturally to MEJMI and allowed her to add another dimension to her musical prowess.

Additionally, MEJMI is the founder of the event series Club Economy. Rhythm, harmony, balance, contrast, and expression form the foundation of Club Economy, with gender inclusivity a key element across all lineups. The party is for individuals from all walks of life who enjoy a combination of visual arts and top-quality techno. While An Spailpin FĂĄnach has hosted previous Club Economy nights, MEJMI aims to bring the event to unsuspecting spaces not usually aligned with dance music.
